Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Upper Lip Waxing.

Most clients enjoy smooth skin for three to six weeks depending on hair growth cycles and individual hormones. With regular waxing, hair often regrows finer and sparser, extending intervals between appointments.

Temporary redness or mild swelling can occur but usually subsides within a few hours. We apply calming treatments and follow strict hygiene protocols to prevent irritation or infection. For reactive skin, patch tests and extra care are provided.

Ensure hair is at least a quarter-inch long, clean, and oil-free. Avoid retinoids or exfoliation 48 hours prior. Arrive with bare skin—skip heavy makeup on the lip—and communicate any skin sensitivities before treatment.

Discomfort is brief and sharp during removal, but most clients tolerate the sensation well. We use warm wax, experienced technique, distraction methods and post-wax calming balms to reduce pain. Regular waxing can also lessen sensitivity over time.

Avoid strong exfoliants or retinoids for at least 48–72 hours before waxing, as they increase sensitivity and risk of skin lifting. Tell your esthetician about medications and treatments so we can adjust timing or recommend alternatives.

Avoid sun exposure, hot showers, and heavy makeup for 24 hours. Apply a calming, fragrance-free balm and avoid exfoliation for 48 hours. If redness or bumps persist beyond 48 hours, contact us for guidance and possible soothing treatment.
