Get answers to common questions about Brazilian Waxing.
Exfoliate gently 24-48 hours prior, avoid sunbathing and strong retinoids for a week, and ensure hair is about 1/4 inch long. Arrive clean and avoid heavy lotions. Avoid caffeine for reduced sensitivity. Communicate allergies or medications before service.
Some discomfort is normal, especially the first time. Our estheticians use fast techniques, warm wax, and calming measures. Take over-the-counter ibuprofen 30-60 minutes before if needed, breathe deeply, and schedule appointments when relaxed. Pain usually decreases with regular waxing.
Ideally hair should be 1/4 to 1/2 inch long (about two weeks growth) so the wax can grip the hair. Shorter hair may result in less effective removal; longer hair can be trimmed by your esthetician before waxing.
Most clients return every 4 to 6 weeks depending on individual hair growth. Over time, hair may thin and intervals can lengthen. Your esthetician will recommend a personalized schedule based on comfort, regrowth rate, and desired maintenance level.
Temporary redness, bumps, or mild sensitivity are common and typically subside within 24-48 hours. Use soothing aloe or recommended calming lotions, avoid hot baths, tight clothing, and sun exposure for 24 hours. Contact us if signs of infection or prolonged irritation occur.
Yes, many pregnant and breastfeeding clients safely receive Brazilian waxing. Sensitivity may increase, so communicate comfort levels and we will adjust technique. Avoid waxing during high-risk pregnancies or if you are on certain medications—consult your healthcare provider and inform us beforehand.
